RULES OF THE TOURNAMENT

2. AGE GROUP AND SIGNING OF
GAME SHEET
This tournament is an
invitational tournament for U19 teams.
The team manager has to
sign up 45 minutes before the first game in the tournament office located in
the Arena building next to the 2nd floor
cafeteria.
3. GAME SHEETS
The team manager has to
sign up the game sheet in the tournament office 30 mins before each game
starts.
4. RULES
Official rules of Finnish
Ringette Association will apply with the following additions and
amendments.
5. STARTING OF THE GAMES
AND JERSEYS
Teams must be ready to go
on ice 5 min before game time . If the team is not ready to start the game they
lose the game 5-0.
Visiting team will start
the game. In case of conflict in uniform
color, home team will have the first choice over uniform color.
6. GAME TIME
All games will have 2 x 15
min. periods stop time with max 45 minutes total game time. The beginning of
the last 2 minutes of total game time will be announced.
2 min break at the half. No
time-outs are allowed except in the final game with 1 x 30 sec time-out is
allowed for both teams.
Final games (#29 & #30)
will be played without the max 45min total game time.
7. PLAYERS
Players born in 1997 or
later with ice-card (Finnish players) are allowed to play in the tournament .
Max 1 year over-aged players (born in 1996) are allowed to play in the
tournament. Max 2 players born in 1996 can be named in game sheet. These
players must be marked in the game sheet by the year of birth. A player with
permission from another club is allowed to play in the tournament. Head of
tournament can after special request give a player permission to play in the
tournament. Still, no more than two over-aged players can be named for each
game.
9. PENALTIES
Minor penalty is 2 minutes
and major penalty 4 min. stop-time. If a player gets 2 major penalties in the
tournament, 2 penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct or for improper behavior or
a game penalty she will be immediately suspended from the tournament.
10. GAMES
There are 12 teams in the
tournament with 4 pools playing a round robin preliminary round according to
the tournament schedule.
- Teams with place 3 in
preliminary round will play next round in pool E for placements 9-12 They start
at 0 points and play a round robin series where they get 2 points for a win, 1
point for draw and 0 points for a loss.
- The 2 best teams of each
group of the preliminary round will continue to quarterfinals and the winners
of the quarterfinals continue to semifinals.
Winners of semifinals continue to final and the losers to the bronze
game. The losers of the quarterfinals will play for places 5-6 and 7-8.
11. POINTS AND PLACEMENT
Teams get 2 points for a
win, 1 point for draw and 0 points for
loss.
If the points are even
after preliminary round or pool E games the following rules will apply:
1.Head-to-head game
2.Goal difference
3.Goals for
4.Goals against
5.Team with less penalties
6.Flip of a coin
If
Quarterfinals/Semifinals/Bronze/Final games are tied after regulation, a shoot
out will follow with 3 players from both teams. Alternate shooters continue to
alternate in a SUDDEN VICTORY shoot out until a winner is declared. A player
can shoot only one time till all the players have shot. Referee decides the
starting shooter. If a player is in the penalty box after regulation time she
cannot shoot in the shoot-out
competition.
12. TROPHIES
3 best teams will be
awarded with trophies and medals. MVP from each team will be selected, teams
have to inform the bench officials latest 5min before the last game about the
name of the MVP player.
13. PROTESTS
Notification of a protest
with € 100 must be received max 15 minutes after the end of the game. The
tournament jury will refund the fee if the protest is upheld.
14. TOURNAMENT JURY
The jury consists of tournament
manager and 2 referees.
15. INSURANCE
The organisers of the
tournament are not responsible of any accidents or damagers in the games and
all players must have valid insurance and ice card (Finnish players).
16. FIRST AID
There is a first aid person
present at the arena.
17. CODE OF CONDUCT
Team leaders, coaches and
trainers are not tolerated to criticize the referees and the spectators should
show spirit of fair play.
