Official World Selects Invitational Rules
1) Each team will play a minimum of six games.
2) All preliminary round games will be two periods of twenty minutes stopped time.
3) Pre-game warm-ups will be three minutes.
4) Each team should be ready to play 10 minutes PRIOR to their scheduled start times without any advanced warning
5) There will be no discussion on coaches’ ejections from games
6) No equipment penalty will be awarded
7) Minor penalties will be 2 minutes and Major penalties will be 5 minutes
8) In case of a regulation tie, we will have a shootout (best of 3 format). 3 players will be chosen by each team’s Coach at the end of regulation. Should the tie persist, we will continue 1 player at a time until the tie is broken (you must use different players than the ones used already). A player cannot shoot a second shot until the entire team roster (excluding goalies) has been used. The winning team will receive 2 points for a Shootout Win (SOW) and the losing team will receive 1 point for a Shootout Loss (SOL). See below under “Playoff Tie Games” for rules in playoff games.
9) All eligible players must be entered on the a game score sheet (maximum 25 players including 3 goaltenders).
10) We will be playing with the no red line rule, therefore, 2 line passes will be permitted.
11) The touch-up offsides rule will be used.
12) Should an “act of god” happen (power failure, major injury …), after 45 minutes the game will be called and the score remain as is no matter how long the game was running at the time of the “act of god”.
13) If a difference of five goals or more exists at any time from the 10-minute mark of the 2nd period on, the remainder of the game will be of running time. The time will stop again should the differential be reduced to a 2 goal differential (ex. 5-3).
14) Each team is permitted the use of one, 30-second timeout per game
15) Each team must be prepared to furnish a proof of age for any of its players upon the organizer’s request. Failure to do so will mean the expulsion of the player from the tournament until such proof can be shown. Players will submit to identification check conducted by tournament organizers prior to the beginning of competition. NO EXCEPTIONS.
16) No Protests will be accepted.
17) Every team must dress a minimum of 6 players and 1 goaltender.
18) A ten minute delay will be permitted to dress a second goaltender in the event the regular goaltender is injured and the team has no dressed goaltender on the bench.
19) A player will be immediately ejected from the game if he is caught hitting from behind. Depending on the severity of the gesture, a longer suspension may occur.
20) A player can only play for one team and in only one category during this tournament weekend, failure to do so will disqualify the said player. An exception can be made for a goaltender, but a unanimous agreement by all tournament head coaches in order to be an exception.
21) A player must participate in at least 2 (two) games during the round robin portion of the tournament to be eligible for the playoff round. Exception made for goaltenders.
22) Mouthpieces and neck guards are optional.
23) The ice will be resurfaced after every game.
The committee reserves itself the final word on the interpretation of the rules.
Tie Breakers
If 2 teams are tied in points, the following order applies to determine the ranking of teams:
1. Head-to-Head
2. Most games won
3. Best differential (Formula = Goals for + Goals against / Goals against)
4. Least goals against
5. Most goals for
6. Least Penalty minutes during the tournament
7. Flip of a coin
In the case where more than 2 teams are tied in points, the following order applies to determine the ranking of teams:
(The tied teams will go through each tie breaker until ONE team is determined the winner; Example-if no team is determined ahead of all other teams after Tie Breaker #1, then it will move on to Tie Breaker #2, etc)
1. Most games won
2. Best differential (Formula = Goals for + Goals against / Goals against). If goals against = zero, you will be ahead of everyone. If two or more teams have a goals against = to zero, the most goals for will be ahead.
3. Least goals against
4. Most goals for
5. Least Penalty minutes during the tournament
6. Flip of a coin
Playoff Tie Games
If there is a tie game at the end of regulation time during the tournament playoffs, the following overtime rules will apply.
A) One, Five minute sudden-death period. Three on Three + Goaltender
B) Shoot-out, Three penalty shots to each team. Should tie persist, one penalty shot each until there is a winner.

Respect the referees at all times, should you have a situation you would like to discuss concerning a particular individual, we have appointed a referee in chief who is available to you, he does not have the power to change a referees decision. However, we have advised our refereeing staff to treat coaches with respect and they will expect the same in return. They will not exercise any patience when being sworn, screamed or gestured at.
The committee reserves itself the final word on the interpretation of the rules.
Pravidla turnaje World Selects Invitational
1.Každý tým bude hrát minimálnì šest zápasù.
2.Herní doba v základní skupinì je 2 x 20 minut èistého èasu.
3.Rozbruslení pøed utkáním 3 minuty.
4.Každý tým by mìl být pøipraven nastoupit k utkání 10 minut pøed plánovaným zaèátkem utkání.
5.Pøi vylouèení trenérù z utkání za nedisciplinované chování nebudou akceptovány žádné protesty.
6.Nebudou uznávány protesty týkající se výstroje (pøemìøování hokejek, betony brankáøù atd).
7.Za pøestupky proti pravidlùm budou udìlovány 2minutové tresty, vyšší trest bude 5 minut.
8.Pokud utkání v základním èase skonèí remízou, následují trestná støílení (3 nájezdy). Trenéøi oznaèí tøi hráèe, kteøí tato støílení absolvují. V pøípadì nerozhodnutí každý tým provede vždy jedno trestné støílení do doby, kdy jeden z nich nezvítìzí. Týmy nesmí použít téhož hráèe až do využití všech hráèù.Vítìzné družstvo obdrží 2 body za samostatné nájezdy a druhé družstvo obdrží 1 bod za prohru v samostatných nájezdech. Pravidla v prùbìhu Play Off jsou uvedena níže.
9.Všichni hráèi pro utkání musí být zapsáni do zápisu o utkání (maximálnì 25 hráèù, z toho 3 brankáøi).
10.Na turnaji nebude uplatòováno pravidlo èervené èáry.
11.Offside bude rozhodováno podle pravidel NHL (touch-up offsides).
12.V pøípadì zásahu "vyšší moci" (výpadek proudu, vìtší zranìní ...), se po 45 minutách utkání ukonèí a skóre zùstává, bez ohledu na to, jak dlouho se utkání odehrálo do zásahu „vyšší moci.“
13.Je-li rozdíl pìti gólù a více, od 10. minuty 2. poloviny utkání se pøechází na hrubý èas. Pokud se rozdíl gólù sníží na 2 (napø. 5:3), èas se vrací na „èistý“.
14.Každému týmu je povoleno jednou bìhem utkání využít 30 vteøin oddychový èas.
15.Na vyžádání poøadatele musí každý tým pøedložit doklad o vìku svých hráèù. Pokud tak neuèiní, znamená to vylouèení dotyèného hráèe z turnaje.
16.Žádné protesty nebudou akceptovány.
17.Každý tým musí mít minimálnì 6 hráèù a jednoho brankáøe.
18.V pøípadì zranìní brankáøe, který nastoupil do utkání, je možná 10 minutová pøestávka, aby se pøipravil náhradník, pokud není pøipraven na støídaèce.
19.Pokud hráè napadne soupeøe zezadu, obdrží trest do konce utkání. Podle závažnosti pøestupku mùže být organizaèním výborem vylouèen na delší dobu.
20.Hráè mùže hrát pouze za jeden tým v turnaji. Pokud nastoupí za dva nebo více týmù, bude diskvalifikován. Výjimka mùže být udìlena pouze pro brankáøe, pokud budou souhlasit všichni hlavní trenéøi zúèastnìných týmù.
21.Hráè musí nastoupit minimálnì do 2 (dvou) utkání základního kola èásti turnaje, aby mohl nastoupit do utkání play-off. Výjimka je udìlena brankáøùm.
22.Používání chránièù zubù a krku není povinné.
23.Úprava ledové plochy bude po každém utkání.
Organizaèní výbor si vyhrazuje koneèné slovo na interpretaci pravidel. .
Stanovení poøadí týmù v základním kole
Pokud 2 týmy mají stejný poèet bodù, poøadí se urèuje následovnì:
1.Výsledek vzájemného utkání
2.Nejvíce vyhraných her
3.Nejlepší rozdíl dle vzorce (vstøelené góly + obdržené) : poètem obdržených
4.Nejnižší poèet obdržených gólù
5.Nejvyšší poèet vstøelených gólù
6.Nejnižší poèet trestných minut bìhem celého turnaje
7.Hození mincí
V pøípadì, že více než 2 týmy mají stejný poèet bodù, platí následující pravidlo pro urèení poøadí týmù. Tyto týmy budou øešeny dokud, jeden tým není prohlášen vítìzem, pokud nelze rozhodnout podle kritéria 1, nastupuje kritérium 2 atd.:
1.Nejvíce vyhraných her
2.Nejlepší rozdíl dle vzorce (vstøelené góly + obdržené) : poètem obdržených Je-li poèet obdržených gólù nula, tento tým vyhrává. Pokud dva nebo více týmù mají poèet obdržených gólù nula, první je tým s nejvyšším poètem vstøelených gólù.
3.Nejnižší poèet obdržených gólù
4.Nejvyšší poèet vstøelených gólù
5.Nejnižší poèet trestných minut bìhem celého turnaje
6.Hození mincí
Play Off
V pøípadì remízy dochází k prodloužení utkání:
A) Prodloužení 1 x pìt minut do vstøelení gólu (náhlá smrt). Týmy hrají ve složení 3 na 3 plus brankáøi.
B) Následují tøi trestná støílení pro každý z týmù. Pokud není rozhodnuto, každý tým jedno trestné støílení, dokud není vítìz.
