Rules for Finland Lions Summer Cup 2018
Time: 27. – 29.4.2018
Place: Hyvinkään Jäähalli, Hyvinkää
Age: Boys 2004 AA/AAA
The Tournament will be played by the rules of the Finnish Ice Hockey Association with the following adjustments:
1. Match reports, player lists
Match reports are printed according to the player lists given by the teams. Any changes should be made in the tournament office 30 minutes before the team’s game.
Managers of each team can pick up a copy of the Game sheetfrom the office after the tournament.
A player can represent only one team during the tournament. One team can use max 20 players + 2 goalkeepers in a single game. Goalies are able to switch teams during the tournament, e.g. in case of an injury. Teams are also allowed to rotate goalies from one team to another if the club has two teams in the same age group but on two different levels.
Each team must appoint a captain from among the skaters listed on the game lineup. The captain must wear the letter “C”
NOTE! All players must wear a neck and throat protector in tournament.
2. Playing time, intermission and timeout
Teams must be ready in their boxes 5 minutes before the game starts. Should the team not be ready in due time they will lose the game 5-0.
2.1. Playing in tournament
Total match time:
65 minute Friday
65 minute Saturday
90 minute Sunday
· Round Robin (Friday & Saturday): playing time is 2 periods of 20 minutes stop time.
· Intermission 1 minute
· Placement games (Sunday): playing time is 3 periods of 15 minutes stop time.
· Time out is not allowed.
2.2. Warm ups etc
At least 2 minutes warm up on the ice before the game. The game starts immediately with starting line ups. Before the start the captain of the team shakes hands with the referees and the opponent´s captain and exchanges banners or streamers, etc. After the game all players form a line on their own blue line, shake hands with the opponent and move away from the ice rapidly.

2.2. Penalties
Rules of the Finnish Ice Hockey Association with the following adjustments:
Minor/Bench-minor penalty = 2 minutes
Major penalty = 5 minutes + 20 min, automatic game misconduct
Misconduct penalty = 10 minutes
Minor + Misconduct penalty = 2 minutes + 10 minutes
Minor + Game Misconduct penalty = 2 minutes + 20 min, balance of the game
Game Misconduct penalty = 20 min, balance of the game
Match penalty = 5 minutes + 20 min, balance of the game, + automatic banned from the tournament
3. Tournament system, rank order and points system
3.1. AA catagory
6 teams are in one group. Each team plays once against the other teams.
The winning team receives two points. Both teams get one point in the case of a draw and the losing team gets zero points.
The rank order is judged as follows:
1. Points
2. Goal differential in all games
3. Goals for
4. Goals against
5. Flip of a coin
Placement games (Sunday):
5th vs 6th (5th place)
3rd vs 4th (Bronze)
1st vs 2nd (Final)
If a playoff/placement game is tied after regulation, penalty shoot out will follow. The referee will call the two captains to the on-ice officials’ crease to call a coin toss. The winner has the choice to have his team shoot first or second.
· Three different skaters from each team will take shots, after that 1 skaters per team if needed
· Each time new player.

3.3. AAA category
8 teams divided to 2 groups (4 teams). Each team plays once against the other teams in the same group.
The winning team receives two points. Both teams get one point in the case of a draw and the losing team gets zero points.
The rank order is judged as follows:
1. Points
2. Goal differential in all games
3. Goals for
4. Goals against
5. Flip of a coin
Quarterfinals:
A1 vs B4
A3 vs B2
A4 vs B1
A2 vs B3
Semifinals:
Winner A1 vs B4 vs Winner B2 vs A3
Winner B1 vs A4 vs Winner A2 vs B3
Placement games (Sunday):
7th place: QF loser lowest seed vs QF loser 2nd lowest seed
5th place: QF loser 3rd lowest seed vs QF loser 4th lowest seed
3rd place loser SF 1 vs loser SF 2 (Bronze)
1st place winner SF 1 vs winner SF 2

3.4. Protest
All protests are handled by the Tournament Jury. The Jury consists of the tournament director and two tournament officials. The decision of the jury is final. The fee for a protest is 250 euros, which will be returned should the protest be accepted. The protest should be in writing, signed by the manager of the team and made no later than 20 minutes after the game has ended.
3.5. Team Jerseys
Home team plays with dark colored jerseys and the team mentioned later in the schedule (visitor) uses lighter color jerseys.
3.6. Tournament medals and trophies
The players of the best 3 teams receive personal medals (max. 25 person/team) and the winning team receives a trophy. Award ceremonies are held immediately after the final game on the ice.
3.7. Right to amendments
Tournament office has the right to amend schedules if they so desire.
3.8. Insurance
All players and team staff must have valid adequate insurance. The arranger of the tournament is not responsible for any injuries that may occur to the players or staff of any team.
3.9. Other disputes
In case of doubt and matters not explicitly expressed in these rules or in the rules of Finnish Ice Hockey Association, the Tournament Jury reserves the right to conduct a decision deviant from rules stated above.
