WELCOME to the spring trip and the final tournament of the 2023-2024 season in Helsinki!

What if you combined your end-of-season party with a tournament trip to celebrate with your hockey team? A week before May Day, this is possible when the Karhu-Kissat (Bear-Cats) U11 team organizes a spring tournament in Helsinki in cooperation with Sokos hotel Flamingo, located in the Flamingo entertainment center.

KARHU-KISSAT U11 (born 2013) spring tournament 27.-28.4.2024 at Kaarela Ice Hall in Helsinki.

The tournament is played on three levels. On Saturday 27th  April there will be an AA level tournament (8 groups), on Sunday 28th April an AAA level tournament (8 groups) and A level (6 groups) tournament games will be spread over both days of the tournament (27-28 April).

The games will be played on full area. U11 finnish official rules with 1 minute penalty time.

There will be four games for each group (playing time 2 × 15 min effective playing time).

Venue

Kaarela Ice Rink, Kaarelan raitti 2, 00430 Helsinki, Finland

The organizing team will enter three teams, one for each level.

Tournament fee

The entry fee for the tournament is EUR 690 (one team from the same club), EUR 1 350 (two teams from the same club) and EUR 2 000 (three teams from the same club).

Half of the tournament fee will be invoiced at the time of registration as a booking fee and the balance closer to the tournament date. The booking fee is non-refundable if a team cancels its participation. If the tournament is cancelled on behalf of the organizer, all fees will be refunded.

Prizes

The top three (3) teams in the tournament from all divisions will be awarded with trophies and medals.

A tournament MVP will be selected from each group of players and rewarded with product prizes.

In addition, teams can change pucks/pennants and select “player of the game” from their teams as usual, as they would in a series game.     

Catering

The tournament will offer lunch and dinner on both Saturday and Sunday.

The meal price is €10 per person per meal.

Catering must be ordered in advance and the number of caterers and any special dietary requirements must be notified to the tournament organizer by 28th March 2024. Catering will be invoiced separately.

Accommodation and spring break programme

Teams have the possibility to book moderate cost accommodation [options of 1 bed, 2 beds and 3 beds (double room with extra bed)] at Sokos Hotel Flamingo, which is a 15-minute drive from the ice rink. Accommodation is booked directly with the hotel using the discount code, please ask the signatory for the discount code.

Combine a tournament trip with a nice end-of-spring happening for your team! One day tournament and one day fun! Flamingo's entertainment centre offers a variety of experiences for a separate fee: movies, water park, bowling, glow golf, pixel virtual park, etc. Flamingo's entertainment services also include various excursions in the metropolitan area, for example to Korkeasaari or Haltia Nature Centre.  

Ask for the low-cost Bear-Cat-Shuttle (bus) service for hotel-ice-hall-hotel transfers if needed.

Coffee shop and other programme at the tournament

There will be a tournament café at the rink, where you can buy food and drinks. The Bear-Cat Grill in the rink's courtyard will be serving tournament sausages.

There will also be a raffle and other side events at the rink.

Payment methods at the ice rink

At the café, barbecue, raffle, etc., mobilepay, credit cards and cash are accepted as payment methods.
